SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

The Chatham County Sheriff's Office revved up their engines for their 13th annual poker run.

More than six hundred motorcyclists took part in the event and raised money for youth in Georgia.

The money provides school supplies, a summer vacation trip, christmas gifts and much more.
Sheriff Al St. Lawrence says he truly appreciates all the support the event receives every year.

"It's important to the sheriff's office because these kids are kids who have never been in any trouble. Parents abandon them, leave them and everything else and they go on to the Georgia Sheriff's Youth Home and become productive citizens in the country," said Jail Administrator John T. Wilcher.

So far the Chatham County Sheriff's Office has raised more than 300 thousand dollars for the children living in the Georgia Sheriff's Youth Homes.
