Two men shot outside nightclub

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Two men were shot early Sunday morning in front of a nightclub on West Bay Street.

Violent Crimes Detectives with the Savannah-Chatham Metro Police are investigating what happened during an altercation outside the club that led to the shooting. Police said two groups of men became got into an altercation and gunshots were fired. The shooting was reported from West Bay and Bull streets outside Club Rain.

Friends helped Jeremy Kenneth Hardin, 25, who is stationed at Fort Stewart, move a block east to Whitaker Street. That's where they flagged down SCMPD Downtown Precinct officers responding to the shooting at about 3 a.m. at West Bull and Whitaker streets.

About an hour later, Nathaniel Jackson, 24, who lives on Abercorn Street on the south side, called police from Candler Hospital where he was being treated for a less serious wound.

Hardin was taken to Memorial University Medical Center with wounds considered non-life threatening.
