BEAUFORT CO., SC (WTOC) -

Drivers in South Carolina could start seeing a new style left-turn traffic signal head.

The South Carolina Dept. of Transportation will begin installing a flashing yellow arrow signal on May 1.

The new signal is expected to improve safety and visibility. The DOT plans to install between 10 and 15 of the signals in the next year, but locations have not yet been determined.
