Brian Gale accepts plea deal

DARIEN, GA (WTOC) -

According to Hinesville District Attorney Tom Durden, the man convicted of leaving his stepson to die in a McIntosh County swamp in 2010 accepted a plea deal Tuesday.

Brain Gale pled guilty to deprivation of a minor that resulted in the death of a minor and has received five years probation.

On Oct. 5, Gale was found guilty of contributing to the deprivation of a minor and involuntary manslaughter. The involuntary manslaughter charge against Gale has been dropped as part of the plea agreement.

Gale was found not guilty of malice murder, felony murder, cruelty to children and child endangerment.
