Hungry customers lined up in, and sometimes outside, Larry's Giant Subs in Vidalia to support Silas Edenfield and other children with cancer. From 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, 20 percent of all Silas go to CURE Childhood Cancer in Silas' honor.

4-year-old Silas has a rare form of liver cancer and doctors have told the family they have exhausted all kinds of treatment. His Toombs County community has supported him through gold ribbons and gold nail polish. Gold is the color used to draw attention to childhood cancer.

The family has used the attention of Silas' story to educate more people about childhood cancer.

"Our hope is that after the gold ribbons fade and the gold nail polish chips off and after Silas' journey is over, that people will continue to remember and support the children who still have to fight this battle," explained Silas' dad, Archie.
