Savannah Classical Academy awaits decision on building
CHATHAM CO., GA (WTOC) -
Savannah Classical Academy, a new charter school, plans to open its doors this fall for grades K through 6th but those plans could be delayed a year if they don't get a building.
"We have identified a building but that building will not be ready for another year. We have requested a building from the school board. By state law, if they have an unused building, they are to make it available to a charter school," said Roger Moss, Savannah Classical Academy.
They are hoping the Savannah-Chatham school board will make a decision at a meeting on Wednesday. The charter school will be tuition free for Chatham County students.
