Pedestrian robbed on Hilton Head

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SC (WTOC) -

The Beaufort County Sheriff's Office is investigating a strong arm robbery that occurred late Wednesday night on Hilton Head Island.

At about11:30 p.m. Wednesday, 25-year-old male told deputies he had been robbed by two men. The victim said he had been walking on Leg O' Mutton Road and as he approached the Indigo Run traffic circle, two black males suddenly appeared behind him from a wooded area, according to a BCSO news release.

They demanded his watch and money. He victim handed the items, and the suspects ran to a black Lexus that was parked on Leg O' Mutton Road. The Lexus was last seen on Leg O' Mutton Road headed toward Marshland Road.

The victim wasn't injured. He kept walking to his destination of Wendy's at 2 Nature's Way, where he called authorities.   

The suspects are described as black males between 25-30 years old. One was described as  6'4" and the other was about 5'7". The shorter suspect had thick dreadlocks. The taller suspect wearing black clothing.

    After years of an almost complete moratorium, the South Atlantic Fishery Management Council voted 12 to 1 Monday to open a limited 2017 red snapper fishing season in the South Atlantic. If approved by NOAA Fisheries, the season will likely begin in mid-to late October.
