Governor Nikki Haley Saturday issued a statewide proclamation designating May 4 as "Candice Glover Day" across South Carolina.

The proclamation recognizes St. Helena Island native Candice Glover's great talent and continuing success on Fox Network's "American Idol."

Born and raised on St. Helena Island S.C. Glover delivered her first public performance at Oaks True Holiness Church at the age of four. Over the course of the show, Glover has won praise from judges and millions of viewers alike.

Candice is one of the Top 3 finalists and the people of the Palmetto State are proud of Candice and wish her the best for continued success. Governor Nikki Haley encourages all South Carolinians to join together to support and watch Candice Glover on American Idol and vote for her following live performance.
