National health survey ranks Ohio city worst in 4 categories

SPRINGFIELD, OH (Toledo News Now) -

One Ohio city ranked worst in the nation in 4 of 15 categories in a recent health and well-being survey, more than any other city in America.

Springfield, Ohio was ranked worst when it comes happiness, frequent exercise, asthma and smoking in the recent Gallup Healthways Well-Being Index survey.

The survey compared data from 357 American cities, and ranked them from worst to best in each category. It concluded that Americans living in cities in the East and the West have higher well being, while those in the Midwest and the South have lower well being.

According to researchers, 75 percent of lower-range well being cities are located in the Midwest and the South, while forty percent of higher-range well being cities are in the West.

Note: Springfield, OH is located northeast of Dayton. Springfield Township is a suburb of Toledo.

    Folks took time to enjoy the smooth sounds at Congregation Mickve Israel on Sunday evening for the second annual Benefit Jazz Concert. The concert raises money for Camp Lighthouse, a day camp for children. The event featured Teddy Adams and a quartet. The event also honored numerous people.
