SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -
A well-known Savannah doctor is hanging up his white coat. On Wednesday, the Memorial Health Foundation held a retirement celebration for Dr. John Duttenhaver, who has served for more than 25 years as a staff radiation oncologist at the Curtis and Elizabeth Anderson Cancer Institute at Memorial. WTOC asked the doctor what he plans to do with all his free time.
"The dream is to get out and enjoy life while you are still young enough and vigorous enough to do the things on your bucket list that require some vitality. I want to climb Mount Kilimanjaro, hike the Appalachian Trail, do some things that require some physical dexterity. So that is the plan," said Dr. Duttenhaver.
Funds were also raised for the Intrabeam, a high-tech device that provides intraoperative radiation therapy for women with breast cancer.
