SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

A soldier accused of gunning down a business owner in broad daylight is expected in court Thursday.

Savannah-Chatham Metro Police said Sgt. Emanuel Perez, with the Third Combat Aviation Brigade of Third ID based at the Hunter Army Airfield, is charged with murder.

Police say Perez shot Armando Montes multiple times in front of the Brothers Tire Repair on White Bluff Road and Hampstead Avenue in Savannah.

Police said the men got into a dispute before the shots were fired. Perez turned himself in to military police shortly after the shooting.
