Authorities investigate attempted bank robbery

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Federal Bureau of Investigation agents and Savannah-Chatham Metro Police Department robbery detectives are looking for a man who attempted to rob a bank Thursday, but then left without money.

The suspect, a black male in his 40s or 50s, entered the SunTrust Bank branch at Abercorn and 41st St. around 2:45 p.m. and handed the teller a note. When the teller announced a robbery was happening, the suspect took the note back and left, taking no money with him.

According to authorities, the suspect is about 5'10", 200 lbs with a dark complexion. He was wearing a blue hat, dark shirt with a pattern on the front, jeans and white shoes during the incident.
