The Lowcountry Down Syndrome Society held their 4th annual Night of Champions Thursday at the Westin. The event celebrates employees with mental disabilities and the companies they work for. Jamie Deen, Savannah restaurateur and son of Paula Deen, served as the master of ceremonies.

"Tonight truly is one of my favorite nights of the year and one of my family's favorite night. It is a night to celebrate extraordinary people and the businesses that hire them. I'm fortunate to be a part of it," said Jamie Deen.

Shameka Mitchell from Center for Digestive & Live Health, Kathryn Weis from Piggly Wiggly, Margaret Hiers from Quantum Specialized Assembly, Jim Ford from Rincon Transmission and Townsend Brown from Chic-Fil-A were honored during the event.
