SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Postal workers are once again teaming up for the Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive. Mail carriers from across the country will be collecting cans of food left next to mailboxes this Saturday.

They have already started picking up donations and putting plastic bags inside boxes. Over 2,000 postal workers in Savannah are participating in the drive that provides meals to millions of people struggling with hunger.

Carriers will deliver the goods to food banks and other hunger relief organizations. The Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive is the nation's largest one day drive, collecting more than 1 billion pounds of food every year.

For more information about the Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive taking place nationwide on May 11, visit your local post office or visit www.helpstampouthunger.com. Donations will also be accepted at any post office lobby.
