Authorities expand search for attempted bank robbery suspect

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Savannah-Chatham Metro Police Department expands search for a man who attempted to rob a bank on Thursday and are asking the public for help.

According to authorities, the suspect is about 5'10", 200 lbs with a dark complexion. He was wearing a blue hat, dark shirt with a pattern on the front, jeans and white shoes during the incident. Savannah-Chatam Metro Police released photos of the suspect.

The man entered the SunTrust Bank branch at Abercorn and 41st St. around 2:45 p.m. and handed the teller a note. When the teller announced a robbery was happening, the suspect took the note back and left, taking no money with him.
