Guardrail repairs set for several Ga. counties

CHATHAM CO., GA (WTOC) -

Emergency guardrail repair work is scheduled for this week in five Georgia counties.

The repair work will run from 8:30 a.m. until 5 p.m., Tuesday through Friday, weather permitting, in Chatham, Glynn, Appling, Tattnall and Bulloch counties, according to the Georgia Dept. of Transportation.

In Chatham County, work will take place on the I-16 and I-516 lane closures and ramp narrows.

In Glynn County, work is scheduled for State Route 27 at mile marker 18.5 shoulder closure outside of Brunswick and State Route 99 at mile marker 9.8 and 10.4 flagman operation outside of Sterling.

In Appling County, work is scheduled for State Route 15 at mile marker 16.2, and there will be a flagman operation outside of Baxley.

In Tattnall County, work is scheduled for State Route 30 at mile marker .50 at the shoulder closure outside of Reidsville.

In Bulloch County, work is scheduled for State Route 73 at I-16 shoulder closure outside of Statesboro.                                

If the work is delayed due to weather, crews will start 24 hours later, according to the DOT.

Flagmen will guide traffic through the work zone. Crews will be working in half mile to 1 mile increments and relocating frequently.
