EFFINGHAM CO., GA (WTOC) -

The Effingham County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's helping in finding an armed robbery suspect.

A search for Antonial Kirkland, 18, of Springfield, has been expanded and he is considered to be armed and dangerous, according to the ECSO.

On April 30, deputies responded to an armed robbery on Highway 30. The victim was robbed and hit with a pistol.

A deputy spotted the suspect's vehicle on Blue Jay Road. As the deputy turned around on the vehicle, the suspects then led deputies on a chase, according to the ECSO. They took off down Blue Jay Road, crashed into a wooded area and into a pond.

During a search later that night, ECSO found one of the suspects, Leon Clemmons, 18, of Springfield, according to a news release. He was arrested and charged with armed robbery.

Kirkland is wanted on charges of armed robbery, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and several traffic related charges.

Investigators received information that since chase and escape, Kirkland is still in possession of a firearm, according to the sheriff's office.

Anyone with information on Kirkland's whereabouts is asked not to approach him as he is believed to be armed and to contact the Effingham County Sheriff's Office at 912.754.3449.
