Bluffton church holds celebration mass

St. Gregory the Great in Bluffton celebrated two of their sisters leaving the classroom as well as their five founders.

School Principal Sister Canice Adams was one of the schools founders and is retiring after 45 years in education. Sister Agnes Marie Winter is retiring after 43 years in the classroom.

Both were celebrated at a mass and then a picnic with the staff and students. The school said the sisters make a big difference.

"The sisters community has helped with our community. They have brought people together they are a bonding force and an energizing force. We also celebrate Pentacost this weekend, which is the spirit and birth of the church and we have no better symbol," said Monsignor Ronald Cellini.

The sisters were also presented a new minivan bought by the parishioners - to help them in their next duty. They will help run the St. Helena Island Franciscan Center to help the poor.
