BLUFFTON, SC (WTOC) -

Thanks to the help of Bluffton Middle School, an 8-year-old boy will soon take a trip to the happiest place on earth, Walt Disney World. The Make-A-Wish Foundation is making a dream come true for the child fighting leukemia.

The students at Bluffton Middle School raised more than $6,000 by participating in the Make-A-Wish South Carolina's Kid for Wish program. At a luncheon Friday, insurance company Trusted Choice announced they would be matching the funds. Even though he doesn't go to Bluffton Middle School, the students chose to donate to Leo Vannoni.

"It is amazing to me that 6th and 7th graders, middle school students, have taken the time to help a child smaller than them, said Kelly Vannoni, Leo's mother.

Make-A-Wish officials say this is the highest amount ever raised by any school in South Carolina.
