SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Detectives with the Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department's Special Victims Unit are asking for the public's assistance in locating a Savannah woman who absconded with her 2-year-old and 4-month-old daughters last Thursday.

Police have filed warrants charging Marcelle Jefferies, 31, with interference with custody after she took 2-year-old Gracie Lynn Jefferies from her own mother's residence. Police say she is also traveling with her 4-month-old daugheter, Shiloh Isaacs.

Authorities are concerned for the welfare of the children. Police say Gracie Lynn Jeffries' father has full custody of the 2 year old. The father left the child with Jefferies for a visit on the 300 block of Montclair Blvd., but she left with her daughters. Police have indications that Jefferies may have left the area but she also could have returned.

Jefferies has acquaintances in Savannah, Florida, North Carolina and Colorado and police believe she could be going to any of those locations.

Jefferies is 5'7", 120 lbs. with black hair and brown eyes. Police say she may appear Hispanic or oriental. According to police, she may be driving a navy blue 2012 Chevrolet Sonic that may have a spare doughnut tire on the front.

Anyone with information is asked to call Emergency 911 immediately.
