Guardrail repair scheduled for this week

CHATHAM CO., GA (WTOC) -

Emergency guardrail repair work is scheduled to take place this week in Chatham, Glynn and Appling counties.

Work will be done from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Wednesday through Friday, weather permitting. Work canceled due to bad weather will take place 24 hours later.

Crews will be repairing guardrails in these areas:

Chatham County

  • I-16 eastbound exit 155 off ramp
  • I-16 eastbound at beginning of exit 164B off ramp in the gore area
  • I-516 eastbound exit 5 off ramp
  • S.R. 25 north at mile marker 4.4 (4.4 miles from Bryan County line)

Glynn County

  • S.R. 27 at mile marker 18.5 outside of Brunswick
  • S.R. 99 at mile marker 9.8 and 10.4 outside of Sterling

Appling County

  • S.R. 15 at mile marker 16.2 outside of Baxley

Flagmen, lane closures and/or shoulder closures will be guiding traffic through the work zone, according to the DOT. Crews will be working in half mile to 1 mile increments and relocating frequently. Drivers can expect minor delays.  Drivers are being asked to slow down while driving through the construction zones.
