Pet clinics receive state grants

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Four area pet clinics have received grants in Georgia's dog and cat sterilization program.

Ag Commissioner Gary Black named 19 recipients across the state.

Black said each grant ranges from $2,500 to $7,500 and will help keep strays off the street and help control the animal population. 

Clinics in the Coastal Empire include:

  • Hart of McIntosh County
  • Friends of Screven County animals
  • Sweet Onion Animal Protection Society in Vidalia
  • Humane Society for Greater Savannah
