Deputies: More than 400 pot plants found in home, duo arrested

WATAUGA COUNTY, NC (WBTV) -

Two people were arrested in Watauga County after investigators found more than 400 marijuana plants inside a home.

On May 23, narcotics detectives from the Watauga County Sheriff's Office Special Operations Division executed a search warrant at a home on Chase-Cole Lane in Zionville, which officials said was part of a narcotics investigation involving the manufacture and distribution of Marijuana.

During the course of the search, detectives located and seized 401 marijuana plants at varying stages of development. The plants were cultivated using a sophisticated hydroponic growing system.

The total weight of the marijuana plants was 130.5 lbs, and it had an estimated street value of over $450,000, deputies said.

Detectives also seized packaged marijuana which was ready for sale, 67 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, and assorted drug paraphernalia.

Jason Dale Blount, 27, and Geneva Anna-Marie Natale, 24, were arrested and charged with two counts of level 2 trafficking in marijuana, manufacturing marijuana, manufacturing hashish, PWISD schedule I psilocybin, felony maintaining a dwelling for a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.   

Both were taken to the Watauga County Detention Facility and placed under a $20,000 secured bond.  They are scheduled to appear in District Court on June 26.
