High Bacteria Levels Reported at Tybee Beach

Labor Day is less than a week away, and weather permitting, folks will crowd the beach at Tybee. But they may not be able to swim.

According to the Chatham County Health Department, the bacteria levels in the water from Inlet Avenue to 18th Street exceed recommended levels and could cause swimmers to get sick.

They also say to make sure you clean any fish or seafood pulled from the waters.

They'll retest the area today. We'll let you know what they find out.
