SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

For weeks, Plantation Self Storage in Savannah has been asking people to donate cases of water that will be distributed to victims and responders in Oklahoma.

On Friday, Publix donated 144 cases and Kroger donated 24 cases. There are many more waiting to be picked up, as several churches, businesses, and residents in the area are stepping up to help. The water collection will be transported to Oklahoma along with the items collected by a Joplin survivor who lives in the area.

"We have partnered with Rachel Mitchell and World Wide Movers out of Richmond Hill," said Scott Parker, Plantation Self Storage. "We will provide transportation for all of the water and her items and they will take it all on the same load."

Folks can drop off water at Plantation Self Storage on Ogeechee Road through June 10. They are open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays. Their goal is to collect 1,000 cases to take to tornado victims.
