TYBEE ISLAND, GA (WTOC) -

The Fort Pulaski Bridge is back open after repairs were made.

On Saturday, crews made temporary repairs to the bridge after a shrimp boat crashed into the bridge that takes cars from U.S. 80 on Tybee Island to Cockspur Island, where the fort is located.

Federal inspectors looked at the bridge last week to make sure it's safe.

There was damage to the railing, which caused some concerns that need to be addressed. The permanent repairs will happen in the next few months. The accident remains under investigation.
