BULLOCH CO., GA (WTOC) -

A man was arrested and charged after shots were fired at a Bulloch County home.

Bulloch County sheriff's deputies responded at 9:40 p.m. May 30 to a home in the 700 block of Clevy Deloach Road on a report of an aggravated assault with a firearm.

A 26-year-old man victim and several witnesses told deputies that an acquaintance Anthony Verde, 27, of Claxton, had become angry with the victim and fired at least two gunshots at him before leaving, according to the Bulloch County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies interviewed several people about the incident and issued three warrants for Verde's arrest.

BCSO investigators, the Evans County Sheriff's Office and parole officers, searched Claxton and nearby areas for two days looking for Verde. On June 1, BCSO deputies received a call of a suspicious vehicle on Emit Grove Road at Emit Grove Church.

Deputies identified Verde as the man inside the vehicle. He was arrested on three outstanding warrants.

Marijuana was also found inside the vehicle, according to the BCSO. He was taken to the Bulloch County jail where he is being held without bond.

He is charged with one count of aggravated assault, one count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, one count of possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, one count of misdemeanor possession of marijuana and a parole violation.
