GSU Students Bike to Athens

You may be making the road trip to see the Dawgs and the Eagles this weekend, but probably not like some fans. A group of Georgia Southern students left Statesboro this morning on bicycles to raise money and team spirit.

Members of the Baptist Student Union will carry one of the official game balls to Athens for the contest. With per-mile pledges and donations, they'll raise money for their summer mission trips.

"Last year we had a girl go to Moldova," said student Josh Keel. "We had a girl go to South Korea. We had groups go throughout the United States."

"I look forward to seeing them up there and knowing I'll have some good fans up there that they were willing to pay the price for Georgia Southern," added Mike Sewak, GSU's head coach.

They'll travel halfway today, then make the rest of the trip tomorrow.

You can see all of the highlights of UGA-GSU game Saturday night at 7:30pm on WTOC.
