Tybee Businesses Concerned About Cancellations

There's a lot of concern and uncertainty this Labor Day holiday weekend all because of Frances. It's still not clear how the weekend will go for Tybee Island. Labor Day is usually one of the busiest times of the year. Hotel owners have been encouraging vacationers to hold off on canceling their reservations, but they do understand.

"We have a 48-hour guarantee reservation policy, so they can cancel anytime within 48 hours to get their refund, but then of course, we'll charge them if there's no mandatory evacuation," said Harry Spirides, CEO of the Ocean Plaza.

Keep in mind, not every hotel has a 48-hour cancellation policy. Fortunately, many people didn't cancel outright--they've rescheduled for another time.
