The 12th annual Hurricane Preparedness Expo will take place Saturday.
The free information event aims to promote severe weather awareness, safety and hurricane preparedness. WTOC's First Alert Doppler Max 11 meteorologist will be there. Emergency management officials, banking institutions, insurance companies and restoration services representatives will also be attending. There will be hourly door prizes, free food and drinks.
The expo will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Home Depot at 1901 E. Victory Drive in Savannah.
"We encourage the public to come out we have classes on preparation - preparations for the hurricane. And when you go to a class - you get a ticket and then we have drawing for door prizes. We have nice prizes given by insurance companies and we have all kinds of exhibiters there," said Georgia State Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner Ralph Hudgens.
