SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Savannah-Chatham Metro Police have arrested a Savannah man suspected in a series of crimes. Terah Kamal Jones, 25, was arrested at a Newel Street address in west Savannah Wednesday night by members of the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Task Force and Central Precinct detectives.

Jones has been charged with two burglaries. Police are also investigating at least nine similar burglaries in the Savannah area as well as thefts in Richmond Hill and Pooler.

Police say Jones was paroled in September after serving 15 months of a 60-month sentence for theft by receiving, theft by taking, receiving stolen goods and theft by receiving stolen property.

Kimberly Pollard, 36, Mark Anthony Smalls, Jr., 21, Tron Lamar Smith, 26, and Jahrell Lamar Ulmer, 20, are all known associates of Jones and police have arrested them on similar charges. The most recent arrest was Pollard by Island Precinct officers. He was charged with theft by receiving stolen property, theft by receiving stolen property-auto and theft by deception Tuesday.

Metro crime stats show residential burglaries are up 12 percent this year over last year.
