SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

More members of the Third Infantry Division will be back home on Thursday night.

Members of the 1st Brigade will be welcomed home at about 7 p.m. Fort Stewart.

Hinesville Mayor Jim Thomas told WTOC what it means to the community to have the men and women coming home.

"When you send men and women off to war - and when they are gone for the time that our guys have been gone as long as they have - it is good to have them back," Thomas said. "It helps our families. It helps our communities. We are just glad to have them back and out of Afghanistan with no future deployments planned."
