Career expo held for recent veterans

Thousands of men and women will leave active duty this year and face the challenge of transitioning into the civilian world. It is not an easy transition but there is help.

On Thursday, the Non-Commissioned Officers Association and hosted a career expo at Fort Stewart. Veterans, transitioning service members and military spouses were invited to the event. The expo was free and put a lot of job seekers face to face with both national and local job recruiters.

"Our companies have a lot of recruiters that are retired military themselves so they already know what they are getting and that's what they are looking for, that skill set, that security clearance," said Jeri Glowacki, Non-Commissioned Officers Association.

"I think it is great really. With military careers, you don't really get a lot of opportunities to set yourself up for success in the future. Hving something like this set up for us is a great chance for us to go to," said Javan Williams, job seeker.
