Multiple arrests following early morning fights in Northampton

NORTHAMPTON, MA (WSHM) -

Right around 1 a.m. Sunday, a series of fights broke out in Downtown, which attracted a large crowd.

Northampton police told CBS 3 that multiple arrests were made due to the incident.

The fights happened near the intersection of Pleasant and Pearl Streets, in front of Tully O'Reilly's Pub.

CBS 3 media partner Mass Live and The Republican reported that a total of six people were arrested, both men and women.

Five of the six are facing disorderly conduct charges.

The sixth is also facing charges of resisting arrest and assault and battery on a police officer.

All six will be arraigned in Northampton District Court on Monday.

Police said they will also be releasing more information about the incident on Monday.
