The Georgia Supreme Court has upheld the conviction and death sentence for a man convicted in the death of a 6-year-old boy in Glynn County.

In a 5-2 decision, the court denied David Edenfield's appeal. Edenfield was the first of three family members to stand trial for the 2007 slaying of 6-year-old Christopher Barrios - who was sexually assaulted before being choked to death.

Edenfield appealed on a number of grounds, including that the evidence in the case was insufficient to prove him guilty.
