GLENDALE, AZ (CBS5) -

Glendale police have released sketches of a man they're looking for in connection with an attempted abduction on Thursday.

Detectives have no leads in the case and are turning to the public for help in identifying the suspect.

The suspect approached two elementary-age girls in a park in the area of 5300 W. Cholla Street at around 3:40 p.m. When they tried to walk away, the man grabbed one of the girls from behind and started to drag her backwards, police said.

Both girls started yelling while one ran toward a home for help. The suspect released the girl and fled the area on a bicycle.

Both girls were able to safely get away. Police searched the surrounding area but were unable to locate the suspect.

The suspect is described as Asian who appeared to be in his 30s. He was about 5'8" inches tall and weighed 175 pounds. He had short black hair and a patchy beard.

He was last seen wearing a black shirt and sweatshirt, black sunglasses, baggy black pants, and dark-colored shoes. The suspect was seen riding a dark green or black BMX-style bike with black handle bars.

Detectives said they believe this is an isolated incident. People with any information about the suspect are asked to call the Glendale Police Department at 623-930-3000 or Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS.
