ST. GEORGE, SC (WCSC) -

Two suspects are behind bars after attempting to purchase a bucket of fried chicken from KFC using counterfeit money, according to St. George police.

Carsheme Dinkins, 30, and Kimberlee Tachelle Felder, 29, have been arrested and charged with counterfeiting/forgery. Dinkins faces an additional charge of driving under suspension, and had a warrant in Georgia and the town of Summerville.

According to an incident report, Felder attempted to purchase a bucket of chicken from a KFC on Jim Bilton Blvd. using two counterfeit $20 bills on Tuesday around 5 p.m.

After the suspect was told the bills were fake, police say Felder claimed she got the money from a grocery store and then left.

St. George police later found a vehicle pulling into a drug store parking lot that matched a description provided by KFC employees.

Police say the driver of the black Honda, Dinkins, gave officers two counterfeit $20 bills. Two more fake $20 bills were found in his pocket, and one was found in the backseat.

Dinkins told police his girlfriend got the money from a grocery store, the report states.

The two Summerville residents were arrested, and the Secret Service was notified.
