CHATHAM CO., GA (WTOC) - The Chatham County Mosquito Control building now has a new name.
The complex was dedicated on Friday to Thomas Oscar Fultz Jr.
Fultz, a pioneer of mosquito control, served as the director of the Chatham County Mosquito Control commission and for the department for 32 years.
He worked to introduce new technologies to control mosquitoes especially in the marsh areas. He was also the first to use handheld computer to record mosquito surveillance in the field.
Fultz served on the commission between 1964 and 1996.
