Man shot during robbery attempt

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Police are searching for two men in connection with an attempted armed robbery Saturday night.

Two men went up to Ernest Bright, 32, of Savannah, at about 10 p.m. Saturday near Joe Rockefeller streets. Police said they tried to rob Bright and he was shot went he resisted.

Bright was taken to Memorial University Medical Center. He is in critical condition.

Downtown Precinct Patrol officers responded a few minutes to the area on a report of shots fired.

Anyone with information on the case is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 912.234.2020 or text CRIMES (274637). Tipsters remain anonymous and may qualify for a cash reward. A confidential tipline also is open directly to investigators at 912.525.3124.
