Couple indicted on drug charges

CHATHAM CO., GA (WTOC) -

A couple was indicted Wednesday by a Chatham County grand jury on methamphetamine trafficking charges and other charges in connection with exposing children to meth manufacturing. 

Dwight Lariscy, 36, and Kristen Annette Lariscy, 25, also have pending drug-related offenses out of Bryan County, according to the Chatham County District Attorney's Office. 

Dwight Lariscy is charged with trafficking meth or amphetamine; conspiracy to violate the Georgia Controlled Substances Act; two counts of unlawful possession of pseudoephedrine; three counts of presence of child during manufacture of meth and three counts of contributing to the deprivation of a minor. 

Kristin Annette Lariscy is charged with trafficking methamphetamine or amphetamine; conspiracy to violate the Georgia Controlled Substances Act; two counts of unlawful possession of pseudoephedrine, three counts of presence of child during manufacture of meth and three counts of contributing to the deprivation of a minor. 

The investigation by CNT agents who tested the children's clothing found that a 5 year old, a 3 year old and a 3 month old, were present during the manufacturing of meth, according to the district attorney's office. A blanket and pacifier found in one of the children's car seat that were tested positive for meth. 

Samples of two of the children's hair was tested by The Division of Family and Children Services and also tested positive for meth, according to the district attorney's office.

    People gathered at E. Shaver's bookstore in downtown Savannah for a book signing of Larry Peterson's newly published book, "Deadly Dust".

     The book explores the Imperial Sugar refinery explosion 10 years ago where 14 people were killed and more than 3 dozen injured. It is the first full study of the explosions and fire at the Imperial Sugar Refinery, including first-person interviews, court records and hundreds of government documents.
