Some businesses in shopping center of facade collapse reopen

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Inspectors are back out at the shopping center of the CVS on Waters Avenue in Savannah to continue to investigate the collapse of part of the front of the 24-hour drug store. 

The facade on the front of the CVS building collapsed Friday afternoon. Police said a woman was hospitalized on Friday with minor injuries. She was sitting in her car in the parking lot at the time when the overhang collapsed. Four cars were damaged when the structure fell on them. 

Doors have been closed since Friday afternoon for several businesses surrounding the CVS in the Medical Arts Shopping Plaza across the street from Memorial University Medical Center. 

The business have opened since the collapse:

  • Bahama Joe's
  • Japanese Restaurant
  • Larry's Subs
  • GNC
