SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

A Savannah woman was charged Tuesday with filing a false report of a crime.

Police told Sylvia Annette Johnson, 30, of Savannah that her car had been stolen soon after it was found wrecked. Police arrested her Monday.

Police said Johnson had reported on June 8 that her 2002 Chevrolet Monte Carlo had been stolen from her home after she had parked it there at 10 p.m. the night before and took the keys with her.

Police said the car had been abandoned after a wreck at 7 a.m. June 7 in the 1200 block of East 31st Street, six blocks away. Police said the keys were found in the wrecked car.
