ATLANTA (AP) - Forecasters have extended a flood warning for metro Atlanta through Saturday morning as rain continues to elevate river and stream levels.
A flash flood watch remains in effect through Friday evening for parts of north Georgia and west central Georgia. Forecaster said before dawn Friday that additional rainfall of 1 to 2 inches appears likely through this evening, with locally higher amounts possible.
In metro Atlanta, the National Weather Service said the flood warning continues for the Big Creek near Alpharetta, where minor flooding continues to expand further into woods and fields along the creek in the Alpharetta, Cumming and Roswell areas. Authorities said most of the walking and biking path in the area will be closed due to flooding.
