HHI student wins second place in film competition

Brantley Neville, of Hilton Head Island, has won second place in the 2013 South Carolina Young Filmmakers Project. The first-ever film competition for high school students was created by the South Carolina Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism and the South Carolina Film Commission. The competition rewards young filmmakers whose short film depicts why South Carolina State Parks are a great resource and place to visit.

"The Provost Academy family is extremely proud of Brantley," said Interim Executive Director Stephanie Cagle. "Our students are doing amazing things and it's such a privilege to share in their success both in and outside the classroom."

Neville, a graduating senior of the Provost Academy South Carolina, was one of 10 students from across South Carolina whose short film was selected and screened at the Charleston International Film Festival. Neville's film of Hunting Island State Park highlighted many unique attractions and landmarks. The two-minute film can be seen on YouTube. It has already received over 1,200 views.
