Three Savannah College of Art and Design students were recognized at the 2013 Student Scholarship Competition hosted by the Women's Jewelry Association.

B.F.A. jewelry and objects student Carla Carballo was awarded $1,750, while M.F.A. jewelry and objects students Bailey Christenbury and Li Huang were awarded $1,500 and $2,500 respectively.

The collegiate competition is open to students who are jewelry designers or creators studying in the field to become artisans, gemologists, appraisers, or retailers.

Women's Jewelry Association was founded in 1976 to provide a professional network of support, resources, education and leadership for women in the jewelry and watch industry.

Ten scholarships are awarded annually with use going towards the student designers' professional growth.
