SCMPD Animal Control to hold rabies clinic

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

The Animal Control division of the Savannah-Chatham Metro Police Dept. is holding a rabies clinic this weekend.

Pet owners can get heartworm tests, microchipping and inoculations at a discounted price. It will from from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.

Vaccinations for rabies, bordetella, DHPP for dogs and FVRCP for cats, will cost $5 each. Heartworm testing, microchips and nail trims will be available for $10 each.

Animal Control officers will be on hand to help handle the cats and dogs. Dogs brought to the clinic must be leashed or kenneled. Those dogs prone to biting must wear a muzzle. Cats must be brought in carriers.

Adoptions will also be available during the clinic.
