Woman found on Ocumlgee River identified

TELFAIR CO., GA (WTOC) - The woman found floating in the Ocumlgee River in Jacksonville, GA, has been identified.

Telfair County investigators identified the woman as 64-year-old Judy Larue Murrow of Tampa. Deputies say she was shot in the head.

Joshua Helton, of Plant City, FL, has been arrested and charged with her murder.  A fisherman found her body face down last week. Murrow's son said the suspect is a friend of his.

"I don't understand how you can be so heartless and ruthless. That's a dirty thing he did. That was a brutal murder. I don't know how you could do that to somebody," said Kenneth Murrow, son of the victim.

Deputies said she has no ties to Telfair County. Helton is in jail at the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office in Tampa.
