5 Bulloch County court officials indicted

CHATHAM CO., GA (WTOC) -

Several Bulloch County officials have been indicted on theft and other charges as part of a Georgia Bureau of Investigation probe going back to 2010.

On Monday, a Bulloch County grand jury indicted five Bulloch County officials as part of the investigation. Georgia Attorney General Sam Olens appointed Chatham County Assistant District Attorney to handle the case.

The GBI seized records as part of its investigation.

Warrants have been issued for:

  • Bulloch County Clerk of Court Teresa Tucker on five counts of theft by conversion and violation of oath of office.
  • Former Bulloch County Clerk of Court Sherrie Akins on one count of theft by conversion and violation of oath of office.
  • Deputy Clerk Leatha DeLoach on charges of theft by conversion and violation of oath of office.
  • Deputy Clerk Amanda Smith on charges of violation of oath of office and public record fraud
  • Former Deputy Clerk Marion Williams on charges of violation of oath of office and public records fraud.
