SCMPD holds Rabies Clinic

The Animal Control Division of the Savannah Chatham Metropolitan Police Department to hold a special event to help pet owners at a discounted price.

The SCMPD to provide inoculations, heartworm testing and micro chipping of dogs and cats at discounted prices.

The Summer Vaccination Clinic to be held Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Animal Control Center at 7211 Sallie Mood Drive behind the Humane Society.

Vaccinations, including rabies, bordetella, DHPP for dogs and FVRCP for cats, to cost $5 each. Heartworm testing, microchips and nail trims to be available for $10 each.

Animal Control officers will be on hand to help handle cats and dogs. All dogs brought to the clinic must be leashed or kenneled and those prone to biting must be muzzled. Cats must be brought in carriers.

During the clinic, the center will also be open for pet adoption.
