Police: man turns himself in after vehicle break-ins

BLUFFTON, SC (WTOC) -

A man was arrested on July 10 in connection with a several vehicle break-in at the Mill Creek neighborhood, and Bluffton police said another man has turned himself in.

Early on the morning of July 9, 15 cars were broken into in Mill Creek.

Bluffton police said Ray Altacho, 17, was arrested on July 10 in connection with the break-ins. He is being held at the Beaufort County Detention Center with a $125,000 bond.

Police said that an accomplice Tevin Rivers, 18, turned himself in to police at 8:30 a.m. Friday. Rivers is charged with 15 counts of breaking into a motor vehicle and one count of first-degree burglary. He is being held at the Beaufort County Detention Center with a $125,000 bond.

Police said they recovered a large amount of the stolen property and have returned the items to their owners.

Bluffton police urge residents to keep their vehicles locked when parked. An investigation continues into the possibility of any other accomplices.
